i-wireless/ FOX19 PREP CLASSIC

Defending State Champions Colerain, Highlands Featured In Prime Time

CINCINNATI (OH) Television schedule and tickets sale information has been released for the second annual i-wireless/FOX19 Prep Classic.

On Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, eight high school football programs take to the field at Paul Brown Stadium as part of a four-game card and local television affiliate FOX 19 will be there to deliver part of the day’s action live and on tape delay.

Cincinnati Taft-Cincinnati Hughes Center starts the day with a 10:30 a.m. kick-off followed by Cincinnati Moeller and Covington Catholic at 1 p.m.  Cincinnati Elder takes on Massillon Washington (Ohio) at 4 p.m. followed by Colerain-Highlands at 7:30 p.m.

FOX19 coverage begins with a one hour special at 6:30 p.m. previewing the premier matchup between Colerain and Highlands and also includes highlights from the earlier contests.

The day’s marquee game featuring defending Ohio Division I state champion Colerain and defending Kentucky 3A champion Highlands will be televised live in prime time beginning at 7:30 p.m., replacing FOX 19’s regular prime time lineup.   The Bluebirds of Highlands have won a Kentucky state record 16 titles in its history while the Cardinals of Colerain are coming off one of the most dominant seasons in Cincinnati prep football history, capping off their seventh unbeaten regular season in the past 11 years with their first Ohio Division I state title.

FOX19 wraps up a full day of football with a tape delay broadcast of the Elder-Massillon game beginning at 11:00 p.m.

Tickets prices for the entire four-game package are just $10 pre-sale and $15 the day of the games.  Tickets are available online at www.prepclassic.com and at all participating schools.

The Prep Classic, conducted by Reach Event Marketing, is the direct result of a concerted effort between Hamilton County officials, the Cincinnati Bengals, Anthony Muñoz Foundation, Marvin Lewis Community Fund and Cris Collinsworth ProScan Foundation to bring an annual showcase prep football event to the Greater Cincinnati area that features top prep football programs.

Beneficiaries of the Prep Classic include the Anthony Muñoz Foundation, Cris Collinsworth ProScan Foundation and Marvin Lewis Community Fund, with 90 percent of the event proceeds benefiting the three charities.  All three Foundations’ proceeds will be earmarked to aid the ProScan Pink Ribbon Women's Center, a downtown women’s health clinic in Over-The-Rhine concentrating on breast cancer early detection.
